The Mountain Butler, LLC (The Mountain Butler) is a pre-arrival grocery and lifestyle concierge service for vacation rentals in and around Pagosa Springs, Colorado. This page explains the text messages we send, how you choose to receive them, and how to stop them.
Who sends the messages
Text messages come from The Mountain Butler. They are sent by a real person on our team about an order you have placed, or about a delivery to a property you manage.
What we text about
- The delivery window for your order.
- A question when something on your shopping list is out of stock, so we can pick the right substitute.
- A note when your groceries have been delivered and put away.
- If you are one of our property manager partners, messages about deliveries to your properties — how to get into a property when an order comes in, and who is delivering on the day.
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Ever.
How often we text
A few messages per order. Message and data rates may apply.
How to stop, and how to get help
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from us at any time, at no cost. Reply HELP for help. You can also email us at info@themtnbutler.com and we will remove your number for you. Stopping texts does not affect your order — every notification we send by text also goes by email.
How you opt in
We only text people who have asked us to. There are three ways that happens, and all three are described below word for word.
1. At checkout on this website
When you place an order, the checkout form has an optional checkbox. It is not ticked for you — you have to tick it yourself. It reads:
Text me about my order — the delivery window, and a question if something on my list is out of stock.
A few messages per order, from a real person, never marketing. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to stop. Not required to place an order — see our terms and privacy policy.
Directly under the Phone field on the same form, we also say:
We'll text you about this delivery — nothing else. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.
2. On the property manager sign-up form
Property managers apply to work with us at /partners/apply. That form asks "How should we reach you about deliveries?" and offers three choices — Email, Text, or Both. Email is a full choice, not a lesser one. Under the Phone field it says:
We'll text you about deliveries to your properties. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.
If Text or Both is chosen, this appears as well:
A few messages per delivery, from a real person, never marketing. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to stop. Not required to become a partner — choose Email instead. See our terms and privacy policy.
3. Verbally, on a phone call
If you ask us on a phone call to text you about your order or your properties, the person on the call asks you this, word for word:
Can I text you about your order? A few messages per order, message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to stop.
If you say yes, we record your agreement along with the date it was given and the name of the person who took it.
Our promises about your number
- Agreeing to texts is never a condition of placing an order or of becoming a partner. Everything we send by text also goes by email.
- We never text a number we did not get directly from the person it belongs to. We do not buy, rent, or import phone numbers from anybody.
- We never sell or share mobile phone numbers or text message opt-in information with anyone, for any purpose, including marketing.
